Amendments to public procurement act enters into force in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/ – The amendments adopted by the Parliament to the Public Procurement Act (LAP) entered into force on 14 December with the publication in the Official Journal of Moldova.
Asked by agency, the head of the Parliamentary committee of economy, budget and finance, Stefan Creanga, specified that the amendments aim at increasing thresholds for low value contracts.
"Thus, the threshold of the public procurement of goods and services was increased from MDL 80,000 up to MDL 200,000 and the threshold of the public procurement contracts increased from MDL 100,000 up to MDL 250,000 ", said Stefan Creanga.
According to changes, until there are reached the thresholds, the authorities will prepare a low value contract within procurement process.
According to authors of document, the amendment concerns all authorities financed by the state budget (BS) and aims to debureaucratisation the procurement process.
