Yellow Code of glazed frost extended in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 December /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has extended the Yellow Code of glazed frost till 19 December.

According to meteorologists, the warning is valid for the entire territory of Moldova. On this period, glazed frost will be maintained.

Physicians traumatologists recommend that residents, especially elderly people, abstain from walking in the city where there is glazed frost. If it happens that you fall down and feel serious pains in the injured parts of the body, ask passers-by to call the 112 Single Emergency Service. Do not undertake anything till the coming of physicians, as any extra movement can worsen even more the injuries, specialists say.

At the same time, patrol inspectors recommend that drivers increase the distance between vehicles, avoid dangerous manoeuvres, check the state of brakes, endow the vehicle with winter tyres, tyre chains, shovel, scraper and a sack with sand. Also, pedestrians are warned to cross only on cross walks after they seriously made sure.

The weather is to cool on the days to come. At night, the air temperature will drop to -12 Celsius degrees in northern Moldova and, during the day, the air temperature will increase to -4 degrees in the southern region. Snowfall is forecast in places.
