Emergency service crew carries woman with serious injury at backbone from Chisinau to Balti

Chisinau, 18 December /MOLDPRES/ - A 38-year-old woman, hit by a serious injury of the backbone in Egypt, on 17 December was carried by a crew of the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) from the Chisinau International Airport to the Balti hospital, in order to be operated on.
The press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), Liliana Puscasu, said that the woman had been brought to Moldova by plane.
“The woman was taken over by a crew of SMURD physicians and para-physicians from the Chisinau International Airport to the northern region. The woman’s condition is of medium stable gravity. During the way, she was monitored by a SMURD team without having complications. Upon arriving in Balti, the patient was put in the municipal clinical hospital for surgical interventions,” Puscasu noted.
According to IGSU data, 57 SMURD land interventions have been carried out since early 2018.
