Moldovan deputy premier attends international conference

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic attended an international conference on political and legal consequences of human rights violations in conflict-affected areas, held in Tbilisi, Georgia, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The forum fitted into a string of events within the platform of trilateral cooperation between the Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine on unresolved conflicts, set in Chisinau in November 2018.
A special session was devoted to human rights and humanitarian challenges in conflict-affected regions.
Lesnic noted that the reintegration of the country is a priority of the Moldovan government, but requires a comprehensive approach. Moreover, the official pointed out that the year 2018 was a dynamic year, unprecedented in terms of efficiency of the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol.
In her speech, Lesnic approached the actions of Moldovan authorities to ensure free movement of pupils and teachers of schools with teaching in Romanian from Transnistrian region, access to international traffic by implementing the mechanism of registration of vehicles in the Transnistrian region, ensuring access of farmers from Dubasari district to the agricultural lands located on the left bank of the Dniester River, apostille of diplomas.
The official said “Chisinau authorities made efforts to solve the problems of graduates of the University of Tiraspol, so that they can benefit from diploma apostille without recognizing the quality of education, but confirming that such a university exists on the territory of the Republic of Moldova."
Also, Lesnic broached the registered applications and decisions handed down to the European Court of Human Rights aimed at violating human rights and freedoms in the Transnistrian region.
The deputy prime minister reiterated full solidarity with Ukraine in the context of the recent challenges in the Azov Sea, and noted that accelerating joint control over the central segment is a step towards strengthening partnership.
At the same time, Lesnic, Georgia's state minister for reconciliation and civic equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili and Minister for the Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine Vadim Cernas were willing to continue the proposed Chisinau initiative on the development of the trilateral platform.
