Moldovan, Georgian officials approach bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic had a bilateral meeting with Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia in the context of the official visit to Georgia, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
Gakharia congratulated the Moldovan delegation on celebrating the National Police Day and remarked the close relationship of cooperation between the institution and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova.
Officials spoke about Moldovan-Georgian cooperation. The two officials also discussed the priorities of expanding cooperation in the future, exchanging good practices and information to ensure citizens' security, advocating intensification of bilateral contacts in various areas of activity.
Moreover, Lesnic and Gakharia also approached Georgia taking over the head of the Committee of Ministers within the Council of Europe, which could give new impetus to the Moldovan-Georgian bilateral relations.
Finally, Lesnic expressed support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Georgia within the internationally recognized borders, and thanked for the support of the UN Resolution "On full and unconditional withdrawal of foreign military forces from the territory of the Republic of Moldova".
