Patients with aneurysms to benefit from innovative treatment at Chisinau-based Neurology Institute

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ – The patients with aneurysms and cerebral arteriosclerotic malformations will be able to receive treatment and medical assistance using advanced technologies, after the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN) opened the Department of Interventional Neuroradiology (DIN) today.
Within the new Department, it will operate a high – performance surgery room where there will be performed simultaneous and combined microneurosurgical and neuroendovascular interventions for patients which have suffered a stroke, have aneurysms and malformations of cerebral vessels as a result of carotid artery damage as, well as the rich vascularised brain tumors.
Also, the subdivision was equipped with advanced Angiograph equipment, which allows investigation of blood vessels and minimally invasive interventions.
According to the Ministry of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection's (MSMPS) data, about 2,500 patients with stroke are treated annually at the INN.
