Over 200 medical services to be provided at lower prices

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/- Tariffs for 221 sanitary services will be lowered. The cabinet approved yesterday the revision of the catalog of single tariffs for sanitary services. The new provisions will allow patients to benefit from higher quality services at a lower price, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Lower prices for a range of services was possible due to the decrease in 2017 of the expenses incurred by medical institutions for the purchase of medicines and supplies. They were purchased through centralized Centre for Healthcare Public Procurement.

Besides reducing tariffs, the document provides for the exclusion of 208 obsolete sanitary services that no longer meet medical standards and are no longer provided by medical institutions. Other 276 services will be renamed.

At the same time, given that advanced diagnostic and treatment methods are emerging in the healthcare sector with the use of modern equipment, the document provides for setting of 135 new tariffs. Their inclusion will broaden the spectrum of medical services and will allow healthcare institutions to respond effectively and promptly to the patients' needs in order to provide people with quality medical services.
