Moldovan authorities award prizes to pupils recording performances at regional, international Olympiads

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ – A number of 29 pupils which achieved performances at the regional and international Olympiads in 2018 were awarded today at the Gala of Olympians, held in Chisinau.

The awards fund was MDL 620 thousand. In addition to the pupils, there were also awarded at Gala a total of 27 teachers which contributed to the preparation of the Olympians.

The awards were handed by the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc. "The 36 medals and 6 honourable mentions in some of the most complicated study disciplines are the proof that our school produces excellence. I want to thank you for taking fame of Moldova this year. You have shown that with great earnestness and talent you can achieve beautiful results," said Minister Monica Babuc.

In 2018, the Moldavian Olympians participated in 15 regional and international contests and competitions in disciplines such as maths, computer science, chemistry, biology, physics, sciences and French. From all these ones, the pupils returned home with awards, including 4 silver medals, 32 bronze and 6 honourable mentions.
