Management of Moldova's Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry sums up work carried out in 2018

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Silvia Radu today summed up the work carried out in 2018 and unveiled priorities for the next year.  

According to Radu, the setting up of the National Agency for Public Health, reformation of the National Centre of Pre-Hospital Medical Assistance and modernization of the emergency medical assistance subdivisions are part of the reform of the medical system. “The launch of the campaign, A Doctor for You, within which more than 30,000 people were examined free of charge, and the increase in the financial allocations for the compensated medicines are also palpable achievements in 2018,” Radu said.     

The health minister noted that, among the achievements, there was also the increase in the number of prosthesis and endo-prosthesis interventions, as well as of in vitro fertilization procedures.  

“The salaries of physicians were increased by 20 per cent for the medium and lower staff and by ten per cent for the other staff and the residents’ office salaries grew too, from 2,080 lei to 5,200 lei monthly,” Radu said.  

The minister reviewed also a string of increases in pensions and allocations to disadvantaged people, noting that, in 2018, about 78,596 families benefited from social assistance.

“For the 2019 year, the reformation of the National Agency for Employment, National Centre of Pre-Hospital Medical Assistance, Primary Medical Assistance will be continued. Decision-makers will start the process of digitalization of the medical system through the setting up of the Digital Health information agency and will work out a concept of reformation of the hospital medical assistance,” Silvia Radu added.
