European single currency to appreciate in Moldova next weekend

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ – The single European currency (EUR) appreciates by MDL 0.09 bani at the end of this week and will cost MDL 19.83. The data were published by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).

On the other hand, the US dollar (USD) cheapens. It will cost MDL 17.29, after it depreciates with MDL 0.02.

The BNM's data also reveals that the Romanian leu (RON) will appreciate by MDL 0.02 up to MDL 04.25. The Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) remains at the level of MDL 0.62, and the Russian rouble (RUB) will keep its value of MDL 0.25.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure's information and media communication service, since the beginning of 2018 the national currency (MDL) has depreciated by 0.2 per cent against USD in nominal terms (from MDL17.10 per $1 on 01 January to MDL 17.13 per $1 on 31 October). As compared to euro, the MDL has appreciated by 4.8 per cent.
