Moldovan deputy premier visits Georgian settlement at separation line with South Ossetia region

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - Following a working visit to Georgia, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic, along with Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili and Ukrainian Minister of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Vadym Chernysh, have visited the settlement Odzisi of the Dushet region, divided through separation line from the South Ossetia region, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
Thus, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic and Minister Vadym Chernysh took knowledge of the situation in the zone of the separation line and were informed about the challenges and impediments faced by ethnic Georgians, who are of majority in this part of the occupied territory, when crossing the separation line through the points set by the so-called “Ossetian border guards.”
The concerned visit is part of a string of activities meant to exchange experience of constitutional authorities for the settlement of conflicts, in the trilateral format, Moldova-Georgia-Ukraine.
It is worth mentioning that, on 16-19 December 2018, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic paid an official visit to Georgia, at an invitation by Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, in order to continue the trilateral dialogue recently established.
