Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ – President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has presented today the activity report for two years of mandate.
The official described the two years of activity as difficult, but in which he would have achieved good results. "I have restored the trust of citizens in the head of state and the presidential institution. I also blocked the initiatives I did not agree with. Likewise, I want to announce that a people's movement: Presedinte puternic – stat puternic (Powerful President – strong state) will be created, the representatives of which will be present in every locality. It will be set up to defend statehood. Afterwards, there will be determined the actions of the movement," said Dodon.
In the field of external activity, the head of state mentioned that he has been promoting a balanced policy. "We want good relations both with the East and with the West. For two years I have carried out 34 official visits, during which I had meetings with 23 presidents of states and other senior officials. We had several meetings with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, following which we managed to restore good relations in terms of export, customs duties, situation of migrants, etc. In the future, we will discuss lowering the price of natural gas. Similarly, I very much appreciate the dialogue with the EU, USA, Turkey, Belarus etc. If we are referring to the reintegration of the country, we had four meetings with Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselski, where we discussed several topical issues and set up several working platforms. The next meeting will take place on 25 December 2018 in the Transnistrian region. If we are talking about 2019, I think it will be difficult because there will be more electoral campaigns and scrutiny," said Igor Dodon.
The head of state also underlined that during the term of office he managed to carry out several social initiatives, in which over 170 thousand persons were helped. Also, the official announced that he had working visits in over 300 localities, where he discussed with almost 38,000 citizens.
The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, was appointed in office on 23 December 2016. The term of office of the head of state is four years.
