Bulgaria to provide Moldova with 140,000 euros

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca and Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Chisinau Kliment Pramov signed a Financial Assistance Agreement yesterday, which provides for a grant of 140,000 euros for equipping schools in Taraclia district with computers and modern IT equipment offered by Bulgaria.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the modernization of the informatics cabinets for pupils from 19 high schools in Taraclia district will significantly contribute to raising the quality of the educational process at European standards, the Moldovan deputy prime minister said. The official held talks on the matter with Bulgarian officials during a visit to Sofia on 4-5 April.
"I am very happy to have signed the Financial Assistance Agreement, which will allow children to study and develop their skills according to modern requirements. I sincerely thank the Republic of Bulgaria for financially supporting our initiative in order to modernize the informatics rooms in Taraclia district," Leanca said.
Leanca reiterated his desire to develop new concrete projects for the benefit of citizens, such as boosting the exchange of teachers and pupils, according to European practices in the field,.
Kliment Pramov said that his country is a loyal friend of the Republic of Moldova, and the projects implemented here aim to support our country to be closer to the EU.
"After your meeting with Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva, here comes your initiative. We are grateful that Moldovans with Bulgarian origin will study and gain knowledge through advanced technologies," he said.
According to the provisions, the Agreement enters into force upon signature, and the planned activities will be implemented within a year. The grant worth 140,000 euros will be disbursed in two installments, the procedure for the acquisition of the modern computing technique will be carried out by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
