Electoral bloc ACUM – DA Platform, PAS registered by electoral body

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/- The electoral bloc ACUM – DA Platform and PAS was registered in the electoral race. A decision in this regard was approved today by members of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

The Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and the Dignity and Truth Platform Party (PPDA) signed in mid-December an agreement to set up the electoral bloc ACUM – DA Platform and PAS, to attend the parliamentary elections on 24 February 2019.

Also, Liberals and Liberal Democrats announced they will join the bloc ACUM to participate in parliamentary elections in February 2019.

46 parties will be able to participate in the parliamentary elections on 24 February 2019. The list of parties has been made public by the CEC in the mid this year.

The parliamentary elections on 24 February 2019 will be held for the first time on the basis of a mixed system. Also, on election day a consultative referendum will be held to reduce the number of MPs from 101 to 61 and remove from office, if they fail to meet their duties properly.
