Five hundred rescuers, firefighters to work on special schedule in Moldova during winter holidays

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ – About 500 rescuers and firefighters will be working specially during the winter holidays. The announcement was made today at a press conference by the head of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), Mihail Harabagiu.
According to the quoted source, the staff will be increased if necessary. At the same time, the work of the Exceptional Situations Commission (CSE) will also be ensured.
The head of the IGSU also warned the population about the importance of fire prevention and risk – taking measures during public holidays and urged people to be very cautious during this period, especially when placing Christmas trees, using lights and garlands on fir – tree, but also the use of heating sources.
"It is necessary for people to strictly adhere to the rules of fire prevention, and in particular: to keep the evacuation ways free; proper maintenance of electrical equipment; free access to the access ways for intervention vehicles; presence of the means of primary intervention in case of fire," said Harabagiu.
He has added that in 2018 his entity will organise the Christmas Caravan. The event will be launched in Chisinau on 24 December, and the cars will also travel to Anenii Noi, Causeni, Straseni and Nisporeni districts.
