Three customs terminals to be constructed in northern, central, southern regions of Moldova

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - Three customs terminals will be constructed in the area of work of the customs offices North, Centre and South.
According to the Customs Service, they will be built in the cities of Chisinau, Balti and Cahul and will meet all international rigours in the customs administration sector.
The Chisinau-based terminal will stretch on an area of about 30 hectares, the Balti one will have an area of about five hectares and approximately three hectares were demanded for the Cahul customs terminal. They are to have bounded warehouses, temporary warehouses, frigorific spaces, platforms for processing of mail sendings, spaces for depositing goods, containers, platforms for customs control of lorries and pickup trucks, scanning equipments, parking and other infrastructure elements.
The need to develop the customs infrastructure is prompted by the significant increase in the trade exchanges, in conditions when the present terminals were adapted according to constructions from the period of 1980s, the infrastructure and endowments of which no longer meet the present requirements.
Besides the comfort and facilities from which economic agents, carriers and customs brokers will benefit, the work of the new terminal will allow also easing the border traffic. At the same time, the new infrastructure will ensure the carrying out of a qualitative customs control and a better monitoring of all operations carried out.
