Moldovan leu to appreciate against main reference currencies on next days

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - The national currency will appreciate against the main reference currencies on the days to come, according to the exchange rates posted by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) today.
Thus, the U.S. dollar will cheapen by 0.03 lei to a quotation of 17.26 lei. The euro will lose 0.12 lei and will have a price of 19.71 lei.
The Romanian leu will depreciate by 0.01 leu to a value of 4.24 lei. The Russian rouble will keep its quotation of 0.25 lei and the Ukrainian hryvnia will cost 0.62 lei, just as today.
According to BNM’s data, in last November, the Moldovan leu depreciated, in medium values, by 0.7 per cent against the U.S. dollar to 17.11 lei, against 17 lei in October 2018. At the same time, in November 2018, the degree of coverage of the net demand of currency on behalf of economic agents through net supply of currency from private people stood at 94.7 per cent, against 102.2 per cent in last October. In these conditions, BNM intervened through net sales of currency of 13.7 million dollars on the local interbank market.
