Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/- Twenty entrepreneurs from the North Region will benefit from financial support from the Czech Development Agency to promote business in the area. The project is implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) in partnership with People in Need and Pro Regional Cooperation public association.
The 20 winners of the competition were given grants of up to five thousand euros.
ADR Nord director Vitali Povonschi appreciated the contribution of small entrepreneurs in the region to promoting the innovative spirit in business activities and wished them success in developing their own businesses. "We want to boost entrepreneurial initiatives and create comfortable conditions for citizens in the north of the country. Due to business development, the value of infrastructure investment projects that we implement in the region will increase,” he said.
Silvia Bicenco, country director of People in Need Moldova, encouraged entrepreneurs to participate in other training programs and competitions for small grants, due to be announced later. However, Bicenco noted that winners of the contest must contribute 50% of the amount of the grant they received, money they will use in six months.
The grant contest was announced in early November. Entrepreneurs interested in this funding opportunity had the possibility to participate in a series of information sessions, organized in Soroca, Balti and Sangerei. In these sessions, small entrepreneurs have learned how to show a successful business plan and how to effectively use marketing and promotion strategies for their own businesses.
This is the second grant competition announced under the project implemented by ADR Nord with its partners. The project A new impetus for business development in the Northern Region of the Republic of Moldova is implemented in 2017-2019.
