Moldovan PM holds phone conversation with Ukrainian president

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko yesterday. The discussion focused on current topics on the bilateral agenda, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The officials noted the intense nature of the political dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine and confirmed the interest of both countries in continuous promotion by organizing joint actions in the near future.
Special attention was paid to state border cooperation, especially joint control at border crossing points, and willingness to extend this practice was expressed.
Also, the officials approached the interaction of the two countries within international organizations. The President of Ukraine thanked the Republic of Moldova for co-authorizing and supporting the Resolution initiated by Ukraine on Crime Militarization, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 17 December 2018.
Pavel Filip and Petro Poroshenko also exchanged views on the evolution of the situation in the two states and the region. Particular attention was paid to the Transnistrian settlement, noting the steps taken by the Moldovan government in this direction.
