Moldovan electoral body establishes order of registration of Democratic Party, Party of Socialists, Party of Communists, ACUM bloc in ballot paper

Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has established the order of registration in the ballot paper of the formations who today submitted the acts for registration as electoral contenders in the parliamentary polls due on 24 February 2019.
In all, three political parties and one electoral bloc submitted their acts to CEC. The order of the formations was set by drawing lots.
Following the drawing of lots, CEC established that the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) will be the first in the ballot paper, followed by the ACUM – Dignity and Truth Platform Party (PPDA) and Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) electoral bloc.
The third in the ballot paper will be the Party of Communists (PCRM), followed by the Party of Socialists (PSRM).
The candidates for the positions of MP can register for the parliamentary elections due next year starting from today. Thus, PDM, PSRM, PCRM and the ACUM electoral bloc today submitted the relevant acts for the parliamentary polls due on 24 February 2019. At the same time, the acts for registration as participants in the republican consultative referendum, held on the same day with the parliamentary elections, can be submitted starting from 27 December. It is about the political parties, social and political organizations and electoral blocs. The acts will be submitted to CEC till 24 January 2019.
The parliamentary polls due next year will be held according to a mixed electoral system; the MPs are to be elected both on party lists and in uninominal districts. Also, on the election day, a consultative referendum will be conducted on cutting the number of lawmakers from 101 to 61 and MPs’ recalling from office, if they fail to properly fulfill their duties.
