Allowances for families with children to increase in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/ – Commencing 01 January 2019, there will be increased allowances for families with children. A draft in this regard was approved by the Executive today, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Thus, the amount of the single indemnity for childbirth will be increased by MDL 658, from MDL 5,645 to MDL 6,303, the monthly indemnity for raising and caring for the insured and uninsured child by MDL 100, from MDL 540 to MDL 640 and the monthly indemnity support for raising up to 3 years of twin children or more children born out of a single pregnancy with MDL 50.

The purpose of the project is to improve the material situation of families having children who are entitled to childcare allowances.

The increased allowances may be lifted starting 01 January 2019. In this respect, there were provided financial resources amounting to about MDL 80.5 million in the State Budget Law (LBS) for 2019. In recent 3 years, the amount of the unique childbirth allowance has doubled from MDL 3,000 to MDL 6,303.
