Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/- The insurance policy can be paid on-line or at post offices, and the status of insured person will be granted and suspended under a new Regulation, which was published in Official Journal of Moldova today.

The Regulation establishes the conditions for granting / suspending the status of insured person, as well as the priority criteria in the case of assigning the natural person to several categories of insurance premium payers. According to the Regulation, the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) will grant the insurance status to employed persons, to those insured by the government and to citizens who individually get the mandatory health insurance policy. If the premium is not paid, penalties will be applied. At the same time, the status of insured person could be suspended.

Upon registration, the CNAM will assign to each person a compulsory insurance number, which will be set in the Register of insured persons.

At the same time, the reporting procedure will be simplified by institutions authorized to keep records of state-insured persons. The information will be forwarded to CNAM via electronic channels, on-line or through the interoperability platform.

Following the recently approved legislative amendments, insured people are no longer required to submit the paper-based policy to benefit from medical services.

The Regulation shall enter into force upon its publication.
