Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/- The government set temporary moratorium on recruiting staff in institutions funded from the state budget on vacancies registered on 30 November 2018.
The draft approved at yesterday's cabinet meeting stipulates that the number of vacant positions in the budgetary system is about 8,400. Most of them, 2,500 in number, are at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The institution is followed by the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Finance Minister Ion Chicu said at the government meeting that the moratorium would be valid until 31 December 2019. It will not affect the work of public institutions and authorities.
The project's authors argued the need to set moratorium by managing more efficiently the available financial resources and directing them to priority areas.
