Moldovan parliament speaker sums up work of parliament of 20th legislative period

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu unveiled the results of the work of the parliament of the 20th legislative period at a news conference today.

Among the main achievements of the parliament, the speaker pointed out the legislative support for more reforms, among which the one of the Prosecution, electoral system, financial and banking sector, improving the investment climate and of the business environment, regulatory reform and reform of the financial reportings, adoption of the integrity package and fighting corruption. 

Candu noted that, in those four years of mandate, Moldova had developed an unprecedented partnership with the United States and had promoted two resolutions on the country’s support in the U.S. Congress and Senate. The parliamentary diplomacy was concretized also through a strong partnership between Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia.  

Also, for the first time ever, the parliament started implementing the ex-ante analysis and the ex-post evaluation of the laws adopted.

The lawmakers of the parliament of the 20th legislative period approved 1,227 legislative acts, of which 900 laws and 327 decisions.
