33 cases of influenza recorded in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/- Since the beginning of the cold season, 33 cases of influenza have been recorded in the Republic of Moldova, of which 23 were only in the last week.

According to data by the National Agency for Public Health (ANSP), the flu epidemiological situation in Moldova is currently low. According to data from the districts, the number of cases of respiratory infections decreased on 17-23 December. During this period, 8236 new cases of acute upper respiratory infections were reported.

Samples taken from influenza patients showed the presence of A(H1N1) and A(H3N2) viruses. People who have had flu have not been vaccinated against seasonal influenza. They were hospitalized and treated according to the clinical protocol.

Doctors urge people and medical staff to use protective masks when assisting and caring for patients.
