Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - Most employees of the Railway of Moldova enterprise (CFM) have received their arrears in salaries accumulated on the last period. The CFM director general, Iurii Topala, made statements to this effect today.
According to Topala, CFM still has arrears in salaries for the employees from a single branch of the enterprise. These employees have not yet received their salaries for September, October and November. The CFM head gave assurances that all salary debts would be paid off in the beginning of the next year.
At the same time, the enterprise’s management is set to increase the salaries of its employees by 35 per cent in early 2019, Topala said.
The CFM head also said that 2018 had been a good year for the enterprise, as the institution managed to pay off most arrears in salaries, buy new vehicles, sign a contract for the purchasing of new locomotives, to carry out other success projects.
Even so, the expenses of the enterprise exceed its incomes and CFM annually has losses worth 100 million lei, according to Topala.
The CFM budget for 2018 stood at about one billion lei. Most money is used to maintain the enterprise and pay the salaries.
