Moldovan freight, passenger transporters to get extended term over 90 days on territory of Ukraine

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ – There will be extended maximum period of 90 days, in which Moldovan freight and passenger transporters could be located on the territory of Ukraine. At the today meeting with Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, has announced the implementation of protocol in upcoming perspectives, which will solve the issue of cargo and passenger carriers, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM thanked the Ukrainian official for eliminating the restriction, noting that the common projects have been advancing at a dynamic pace, and the problems that have arisen are quickly solved and for the benefit of the citizens of both states. As an example, the Premier mentioned the start of joint Moldovan – Ukrainian control over several border sections, including the Transdniestrian one.
In the context, Petro Poroshenko expressed the willingness to extend joint control at other border crossing points. Also, the President of Ukraine has called for intensifying joint actions to ensure security in the region and promote the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two states. Similarly, the President of Ukraine stressed the importance of further developing cooperation within international organisations, but also of intensifying economic relations. Only in 2018 the volume of trade between countries has increased by about 20 per cent.
The two officials also addressed other issues onto bilateral agenda related to the implementation of the Protocol on liberalisation of car and air transport between Moldova and Ukraine. Pavel Filip and Petro Poroshenko also exchanged views on the internal situation in both states.
