Children left without parental care to get higher allowances in Moldova

Chisinau, 01 January /MOLDPRES/ – The children who are left without parental care, placed in alternative care services, will receive higher benefits since today. The provisions are included in a Government decision that enters into force on 01 January.
Thus, children placed in the tutorship/guardianship service, those placed in the professional parental care service and those in the family – type orphanages will benefit from a monthly allowance of MDL 1,400. This was increased by 75 per cent – previously the children received MDL 800, MDL 930 and MDL 750, respectively.
Similarly, it was set unique allowance of MDL 3,513 for children placed in tutorship/guardianship, and for beneficiaries of professional parental assistance and children of family type homes it was increased from MDL 3,000 to MDL 3,513.
Also, the document provides for granting of 30 per cent one – time placement indemnities for children with disabilities, 50 per cent for children aged 1 to 3 years and 100 per cent for children up to one year.
In order to pay the established allowances, additional financial resources amounting to about MDL 40.5 million were provided in the state budget (BS) for 2019.
