Euro to cheapen against Moldovan leu

Chisinau, 2 January /MOLDPRES/ - The single European currency will cheapen by 0.05 lei on 3 January. The euro’s official price, set by the National Bank of Moldova, will be of 19.56 lei.
The U.S. dollar will stay at 17.11 lei.
The Romanian leu will cheapen by 0.01 leu and will cost 4.19 lei. The Ukrainian hryvnia will cost 0.61 lei, just as today. The Russian rouble will keep its price of 0.24 lei.
The official exchange rate represents the price of the Moldovan leu against the currencies of other countries. It is calculated based on the exchange rates established by the licenced banks in the transactions of sale/purchase of currencies, carried out with their clients and with other banks. Thus, the official exchange rate shows the relationship between the demand and supply of currencies on the country’s currency market.
