Moldovan official journal roundup for 4 January

Chisinau, 3 January /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law amending the Water Law no.272/2011 will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 4 January.

Under the new regulations, Register of Protected Areas, part of the State Water Cadastre, will be set up in Moldova. Thus, water basins designated as protected areas will be identified and mapped by the administrative authority for water management and public health, respectively. At the level of each river basin district, the registration of water bodies designated as protected areas will be made through the register of protected areas.

The register will include the areas meant for abstraction of drinking water from surface and underground waters with an average flow of more than 10 m³ per day or serving more than 50 people.

The register of protected areas will be managed by the central public administration body in the environmental field through the administrative water management authority.
