Competition Law amended

Chisinau, 3 January /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law amending the Competition Law No183/2012 will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 4 January.

Under the new regulations, the special legislative acts in the field of media will provide for thresholds for the notification of economic concentrations other than those currently stipulated in the legislation. At present, the Article No22 (1) of the Competition Law sees that the economic concentration operations are subject to evaluation and are to be notified to the Competition Council prior to implementation, when the cumulative turnover achieved by the enterprises in the year prior to the operation exceeds 25 million lei and there are at least two enterprises involved in operation, which have conducted in Moldova, individually, a total turnover of more than 10 million lei in the year prior to the operation.

At the same time, the Audiovisual Council will present an annual report to the Competition Council on the actual beneficiaries in the audiovisual field by 1 March.
