About 40 million lei to be earmarked for development of southern region in 2019

Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/- Over 38 million lei will be allocated in 2019 from the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR) to implement projects in the southern region of Moldova. One of the most important ones is the construction of the access road to the Chistoleni Monastery in Basarabeasca.
This amount was approved at a meeting of the National Council for Coordination of Regional Development (CNCDR), at the end of last year, when the implementation plan of the National Regional Development Strategy 2016-2020 was examined for this year.
From the money provided for the southern part of the country, means will be allocated for the construction of the access road to the Chistoleni Monastery in Basarabeasca district, as well as for the completion connecting several local roads on R20 - RD South, R34-Sarma-Tomai-Sarateni-Hartop to the national road network.
Also, from the FNDR sources it is expected that the construction of the sewerage system in Valul lui Traian sector and the modernization of the sewage treatment plant in Căuşeni will be continued this year.
Another project that the South Regional Development Agency plans to complete this year is thermal rehabilitation of IMSP building.
“We have on the agenda implementation of two other projects related to business infrastructure development, which started last year, and in order to ensure their continuity this year, CNCDR decided to allocate from the FNDR three million lei for each. The greatest novelty of 2019 is the approval by the CNCDR of the financing for the project, Construction of the access road to the Chistoleni Monastery, which aims to boost the tourist development of the area, which can be included in the international tourist routes,” sources in ADR Sud said.
