D.B.: I would like to mention exhibition: Noi, tineretul creator (We, creative youth), open to all young plastic artists from us up to 35 years old. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC) offered the Grand Prize. The other three awards, including six diplomas, are awarded by the Union of Fine Artists (UAP). In autumn of 2018, the International Biennial of Applied Decorative Arts was hosted by artists from seven countries. Another exhibition – contest was Autumnala, which is a balance sheet – each artist comes with the best work done during the year. The Grand Prize, awarded by the MECC, is MDL 10,000. I also had an exhibition dedicated to the National Days of Moldova and Ukraine.
M.: What anniversary exhibitions were there held in 2018?
D.B.: I can highlight here several anniversary exhibitions of artists which also have a work worth mentioning: Dumitru Peicev (75 years from birth), Simion Zamsa (60 years anniversary), Chiril Novac (at the age of 80 at birth), Ion Moraru, established in USA (a watercolour exhibition 68 years from birth), Olga Orlova (85 anniversary), Victor Cuzmenco (70 years from birth). We also had exhibitions in memoriam Ludmila Toncev and Gheorghe Guzun.

D.B.: We only participated in collective exhibitions. For other creative activities I do not have time, being concerned about administrative issues.
M.: How do you think it will be year 2019 for Moldovan artists?
D.B.: On 11 January we inaugurate the exhibition programme 2019 with exhibition: Eminesciana dedicated to our national poet Mihai Eminescu. This year we will have 32 exhibitions. Due to a project funded by the MECC, we will edit almanac: Panoramic Art, which will include the most important events organised at Exhibition Centre Constantin Brancusi (CECB) and at the National Art Museum of Moldova (MNAM). We anticipate that the National Art Contemporary Centenary – 2018, organised by the Union of Fine Artists of Romania, will arrive in February – March 2019 in Chisinau too.
M.: Thank you for the interview. Much success and Happy New Year!
