Moldovan president to first ever have adviser for inter-ethnic relations

Chisinau, 5 January /MOLDPRES/ - The president of Moldova will have an adviser for inter-ethnic relations for the first time ever. Jurist Serghei Misin will hold this office. President Igor Dodon has signed a decree on his appointment.
According to the Presidency, Serghei Misin is PhD in law, member of the Civil Society Council under the President of Moldova.
Igor Dodon also said that no adviser for inter-ethnic relations had been recorded in the history of Moldova.
„One third of Moldova’s population is made up of representatives of other ethnic groups than the Moldovans and one of the main tasks of the head of state is to maintain the permanent contact with these organizations and to ensure peace and good understanding in the society,” Igor Dodon said.
The head of state has earlier promised to nominate an adviser in this sector, as a response to numerous appeals by ethnic and cultural organizations of Moldova.
