Meteorologists forecast snowfall all over Moldova during Old-style Christmas

Chisinau, 6 January /MOLDPRES/ - Meteorologists forecast snowfall and low temperatures all over Moldova for 7 January, when the Old-style Orthodox Christians mark Christmas.

The State Hydrometeorological Service said that snow was expected both on 6 and on 7 January. The air temperature will oscillate between -8 and -11 Celsius degrees in northern Moldova at night, and during the day, it will vary between -4 and -7 degrees. In the central region, the minimum air temperatures will fluctuate between -7 and -10 degrees and the maximum ones – between -3 and -6 degrees. In the southern part, the air temperatures will be by one degree higher, in the conditions of variable cloud.

According to people’s superstitions, if it snows on the Christmas day, the weather will be nice on Easter. At the same time, clear sky on Christmas announces a rich year.
