Agenda of cultural events in Moldova for 9-10 January

Chisinau, 8 January /MOLDPRES/ - A recital of sacred arias and Lieds, titled, Ave Maria, takes place at the Chisinau-based Organ Hall on 10 January at 18:00.
According to the organizers, at the show, soprano Maria Tonina and organ platey Anna Strezeva will present arias from motets and oratories by Haendel, Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Scarlatti, Orff and cantata Ave Maria by Bach-Gounod, Caccini and Schubert.
On 9 January at 18:00, the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre hosts a show titled, And I Held the Fire Burning… with lyrics by Leonida Lari, stage management of Nicolae Jelescu, presented by actress, People’s Artist Ninela Caranfil.
The play, Carmen, an opera in four acts by Georges Bizet, takes place at the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic on 10 January at 18:00. The show is presented in modern vision by Concertino Accordion Band, Doina Academic Choir Chapel and Children’s Choir of the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre. Ljubica Vraneš from Serbia plays the part of Carmen.
On the same day at 18:00, the play Carnavalul (The Carnival) by I.L. Caragiale is performed at the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre and the Luceafarul Theatre hosts the play, Questa e la vita dolce?,” by Gheorghe Urschi. The play, the Elixir of Love, an opera in two acts by Gaetano Donizetti, is presented at the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre at 18:30.
