Moldovans to be able to travel to Turkey with identity card

Chisinau, 10 January /MOLDPRES/- Citizens of Moldova and of Turkey will be able to travel to each other on the basis of the identity card. The promulgation decree and the law on ratification of the Protocol, signed in Chisinau on October 17, 2018, between the government of Moldova and the government of Turkey amending the Agreement between the government of Moldova and the government of Turkey on the reciprocal abolition of visas will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 11 January.

 The new provisions will give the right to enter the territory of the states for the same period of stay as in the case of passports. Citizens planning to travel for more than 90 days will be required to obtain a visa before traveling. According to the document, mutual travel on the basis of internal ID does not entitle the person to work.

Since 2014, on the basis of the Agreement between the government of Moldova and the government of Turkey on the reciprocal abolition of visas, citizens of both countries are exempted from the visa requirement to enter and stay temporarily in the territory of the two states for up to 90 days.
