Almost 13,000 people need ambulance physicians' assistance in Moldova during Christmas mini-vacation

Chisinau, 10 January /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 12,994 people from all over Moldova asked for ambulance physicians’ assistance during the days-off 4-8 January.
Data by the National Centre of Pre-hospital Emergency Medical Assistance shows that, on the period, ambulance physicians intervened in the case of 26 traffic accidents, within which they provided first aid to 37 people injured. On the same period, physicians were asked for assistance also in the case of ten patients who were intoxicated with carbon monoxide, among whom five children.
Emergency teams provided specialized assistance also to 11 patients hit by hypothermia. A person who gave birth at her residence and two persons with combustions in the wake of fires were provided assistance too.
According to the aforementioned data, an about 15-per cent increase in the number requests for assistance have been recorded in the last weeks.
Today morning, two ambulances from Chisinau intervened in a traffic accident which occurred on the Dacia blvd from the capital, nearby the airport. Physicians provided emergency assistance to two patients, aged 56 and 26 years, who suffered from diverse injuries. One of them was taken over by a reanimation team, after having been hit by a severe injury. Both patients were carried to the emergency medicine department.
