Chisinau, 11 January /MOLDPRES/ - More routes from the Chisinau municipality have been shortened because of the heavy snowfall.

According to the Chisinau city hall, the trolley buses No 31 and No 33, going to Sangera and Stauceni, shortened their itinerary up to the entrance into the settlement. At the same time, the bus No 31, moving to Vadul lui Voda, goes only to the Budesti settlement and the route No 46 – up to the entrance into the Ghidighici village.

Also, the management of the Urban Park of Buses ruled to withdraw from route those nine buses with tow. The measure is taken to avoid traffic blockages.

The local authorities said that the bus routes No 9, No 11, No 26 and No 46 had been temporarily shortened. The measure was taken to facilitate the intervention of the snow-removal services.

Presently, the Exdrupo administration intervenes with 36 machines. Roadmen spread 600 tons of antiskid material and about 60 tons of liquid salt. At the same time, the housing and utility administration intervenes for removing snow, in stops and on pavements, with the involvement of 35 machines and 400 workers. There are no closed streets, although blockages are temporarily registered on certain segments, because of traffic accidents or slow movement of vehicles.

The municipal authorities urge citizens to use the public transport, instead of private cars; drivers should not park on edges of streets or pavements, in order to allow snow-removing machines to intervene in due time. Also, economic agents from Chisinau and managers of real estate are asked to clean the snow on the territory where they work.
