Number of subscribers using service of porting phone numbers increases in Moldova in 2018

Chisinau, 11 January /MOLDPRES/ - The number of subscribers who used the service of porting phone numbers increased by 9,200 in 2018 against the year before and stood at 34,200. Data to this effect was unveiled by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI).

Data by ANRCETI shows that 32,000 out of the ported phone numbers were number of mobile telephony and 2,200 – fixed telephony numbers. About 2,900 porting were made monthly on average last year.

Since the launch of the portability of numbers, in July 2013 till late 2018, about 216,000 phone numbers were ported, of which more than 199,000 are mobile telephony numbers and 17,400 – fixed telephony ones.

According to the regulations issued by ANRCETI, any user can benefit from the service of porting numbers in five working days at the latest after the submitting the concerned application to the provided chosen. This service allows beneficiaries preserving the phone number when changing their provider.
