Road workers scatter about 250 tonnes of antiskid material to combat slipperiness in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ – About 250 tonnes of antiskid material was scattered last night on national roads to fight the slider. The announcement was made for the agency by the head of the Operational Service of the State Road Administration (ASD), Sergiu Capatina.
According to the cited source, there were involved 42 special vehicles and 94 employees in the works. "There were no snowfall last night there. During this period, there were carried out patrol and snow removal works on the national routes," said Capatina.
At present, the road workers carry out widening of the carriageway and road verges. "There are blocked roads and road traffic is provided in winter conditions. Also, all dangerous sectors are monitored and intervene as needed", said Sergiu Capatina.
In the following days, the weather keeps cool. At night, the thermometres will indicate up to –11ºC in the north of Moldova, and the day will record up to +03ºC in the south. Isolated, it will snow.
