Specialists of national healthcare agency record 83 cases of influenza in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ – The specialists of the National Agency for Public Healthcare (ANSP) has registered 83 flue cases since the beginning of the cold season, out of which only 35 in the recent week.
According to ANSP's data, the flue epidemiological situation in Moldova is currently below the epidemic threshold. According to last week data from districts, the number of cases of respiratory infections decreased by 7.8 per cent. During this period, there were reported 6222 new cases of acute upper respiratory infections.
Samples taken from flu patients showed the presence of A (H1N1) and A (H3N2) viruses. The persons which have suffered from flue have not been vaccinated against seasonal flue.
According to World Health Organisation (WHO) data, influenza continues to grow in the European region. It is recorded a large number of cases of influenza virus infection in Romania and Ukraine.
In order to avoid illness, the epidemiologists recommend that citizens refrain from self – treatment and contact their doctor for the first symptoms of influenza – compatible disease. And avoid contact with pregnant women, immunocompromised people, patients with cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes and obesity.
