Over 2,100 persons appeal to doctor with viruses in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ – Over 2,100 persons in Chisinau got into public healthcare institutions with acute respiratory infections last week. The announcement was made today by the head of the Directorate of social assistance and healthcare, Carolina Olaru, during a weekly meeting of the Chisinau City Hall.
According to the cited source, the most affected are children up to 4 years of age, with 758 cases registered.
"Additionally, there were recorded 482 cases at children between 5 and 14 years of age. Out of the total number of patients, 122 were hospitalised. Also, there were reported 25 cases of influenza during this period. In medical institutions, flu vaccination continues to target persons at high infection risk. Last December, there were vaccinated over 2,150 persons," said Olaru.
Last week, in Chisinau, there were 14 cases of tuberculosis and 54 cases of chicken pox. Also, about 100 persons have been addressed to doctors with fractures and trauma.
