Around forty new cars assigned to territorial police inspectorates in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ – About 40 new cars have been distributed to territorial police inspectorates today.
At a press conference, the head of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Alexandru Panzari, specified that there are destined 25 of the cars for the operative groups and another 14 are for transporting the persons in police custody.
"We are glad that throughout this acquisition the police becomes more modern and professional. It is a long – awaited acquisition by police colleagues. Thus, the reaction will become faster and services will become more effective for citizens. Twenty – five of the cars will come to the 112 fast – response service, and 14 will be for transporting custodians, which means they will have better conditions. All vehicles will be assigned to the police inspectorates in the territory," said Panzari.
At his turn, state secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), Dorin Purice, mentioned that the means of transport are equipped with GPS tracking systems and can be monitored online.
"It is an important acquisition to ensure public order and improve police working conditions. We thank the European partners for this acquisition, which was carried out under the Budget support programme (PSB) offered by EU for the reform of police (RP)," said Dorin Purice.
The cars were purchased in the context of the implementation of the Police Development Strategy (SDP) for 2016 – 2020 and have a total cost of MDL 19 million. The funds were allocated from the national budget, but they are to be reimbursed following an evaluation by international experts.
