Christmas fair concludes in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ – The second issue of the Christmas Fair organised by the Government of Moldova at the initiative of Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, ended today with the National Day of Culture and the birth of the national poet Mihai Eminescu with a concert of local stars and a prize lottery.
Present at the event, PM Pavel Filip mentioned that the issue of this year, it was attended by more than 8,000 children, which enjoyed the gifts of Santa Claus, smiles and many surprises. "And if we have had a lot of Saturdays, and if we have had good cheer here here, let us consider that the purpose we were aiming for was achieved. And not in vain we chose this place for the Christmas Fair, not far from the Government of Moldova, because this positive atmosphere, you know, has reached the corridors of the Executive," specified Pavel Filip. The official thanked the organising team and the artists which stepped on stage during this period and reminded us of the beautiful Moldovan traditions.
At the concert have participated: Maria Iliut and the band led by her Crenguta de Iedea, Ethnofolcloric Ensemble Osoianu Sisters, Ionel Istrati, Natalia Gordienco, Nicu Tarna, Vitalie Dani, Nelly Ciobanu, Cornelia and Marcel Stefanet, pop – rock and folk music band Noroc, Valy Boghean Band, Gandul Matei etc. The evening ended with a recital by members of Brio Sonores. They also performed the official Christmas carols – Acasa de Craciun (At home for Christmas), which was launched at this year issue of the Christmas Fair organised according to the model of big European cities.
On the last day of the Christmas Fair, there were made the balances of the lottery. The big draw culminated in the announcement of six winners, which chose a TV – set, two tablets and three smartphones.
According to organisers, as last year, the Christmas Fair was the place where the spirit of the winter holidays was felt by the over 5,000 children from the placement centres, hospitals, children with disabilities, socially vulnerable families and children from the left side of the Dniester river.
The Christmas Fair, located on street 31 August 1989, in the perimeter of streets Metropolitul G. Banulescu – Bodoni and A. Puskin, was opened daily on 15 December 2018 – 15 January 2019.
