Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - Three new customs control zones (ZCV) are to be opened in 2019. Their construction has been already started and 12.7 million lei was allocated for completing the works.

According to the Customs Service, the new zones will be nearby the border checkpoints Sculeni, Costesti and Giurgiulesti. Thus, all procedures will be carried out in the customs control zones and only the registration of the crossing and the authorization of crossing the goods through the customs border will be registered at the border checkpoint.

At the same time, steps have been taken for the construction of three customs terminals in Chisinau, Balti and Cahul, with contests on contracting the construction services announced already. According to the requirements, the Chisinau-based terminal will stretch on an area of about 30 hectares, the Balti one will occupy an area of about five hectares and about three hectares were requested for the Cahul-based terminal.

Works of extending the infrastructure are scheduled also for the Moldovan-Romanian border crossing points Sculeni-Sculeni, Leuseni-Albita and Giurgiulesti-Galati. Their rehabilitation is to be carried out within the Joint Operational Programme Romania-Moldova 2014-2020, financed by the European Union (64.28 per cent) and co-financed by the governments of the two states (35.72 per cent). The project’s budget is ten million euros, of which five million is meant for Moldova.

They have all needed conditions, being adapted also to the persons with disabilities. The new constructions are also endowed with tables for swaddling.

Another 17 such objects are to be built at the posts from the northern and southern segments of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. Four ones will be constructed this year; the first locations were selected depending on the number of crossings and the present state of the sanitary units. It is about the customs checkpoints Tudora, Mirnoe, Otaci and Ocnita.
