Bassarabian plastic artist established in Bucharest exhibits works in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ – A personal exhibition of plastic artist Vasile Rata, originated from Moldova, established in Bucharest, Romania, has been varnished at the National Art Museum (MNA) of Moldova today.
The exhibition includes over 40 paintings, objects and installations.
Interviewed by agency, host of the host institution, Tudor Zbarnea, moderator of the event, has mentioned that Vasile Rata is a total, postmodern and conceptualist plastic artist appreciated in the world. "Since 1990 he has settled in Bucharest. He is invited to several international symposia from different states. Now, Vasile Rata came for the first time with a personal exhibition in Chisinau. It is an exceptional exhibition which was organised in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute Mihai Eminescu in Chisinau", added Tudor Zbarnea.
In this context, deputy head of the Union of Fine Artists, Ghenadie Jalba, has specified that Vasile Rata is one of the painters representing Moldova in the world. "He has exhibitions in several countries, from Vietnam to Japan. He knows how to fine – tune any compositional element, whether it be a line or a colour," said Ghenadie Jalba.
Professor Victor Cobzac, which directed Vasile Rata at the School of Fine Arts Igor Vieru in Chisinau, reminded himself that he was one of his most diligent students. "He worked hard. As he shuddered, he was in the workshop. He went throughout a good school in Chisinau, Moscow and Bucharest," said Victor Cobzac.
Vasile Rata was born on 11 March 1966 in Calarasi. In 1988 – 1990, he attended courses at the Moscow Cinematography Institute, Section of Scenography and Film, then, in 1990 – 1994, he studied at the Academy of Arts in Bucharest, the painting section. Since 1996 he has been a member of the Union of Fine Artists of Romania.
The exhibition is open until 10 February.
