Moldovan government addresses science issues

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ – The problems in the field of science, as well as the methods for solving them, were addressed during the meeting of the Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and the representatives of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) today.
According to the government’s communication and media relations department, during the meeting, Pavel Filip emphasised upon the importance of scientific environment for Moldova, its development being ensured at present throughout implementation of reform in the field of science and innovation. "The sooner we put clarify all issues, the sooner it will become clear to everyone that a step has been taken for good, optimisation and a step that should help us. That means more money for research, more money used efficiently. I have all the certainty that ASM will return to maximum speed," said PM.
During the discussion, there were addressed issues related to reorganisation of the field of research and innovation, as well as the one of ASM. The PM said that the Government team would continue to take action to resolve administrative issues and legal regulation.
At their turn, the representatives of ASM expressed gratitude to Executive for supporting science by the state and involvement in identifying solutions to existing issues.
Also, Pavel Filip has been informed that on 24 January, it will be held the General Assembly of ASM and start the competition for election of the new president of ASM. The head of Government announced to be open to further collaborations with the members of ASM.
