Road employees continue road cleaning works in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ – The road employees continued the patrolling and fighting of the slide last night. 

The head of the operational service of the State Road Administration (ASD), Sergiu Capatina, mentioned that last night, it did not snow, but on some roads in the country the ice is kept.

"There were involved 61 special vehicles and 100 workers in road cleaning. The road workers used over 367 tonnes of anti – skid material. The road traffic on national roads is ensured under winter conditions. The dangerous sectors are monitored and intervened as necessary," said Capatina.

According to the Chisinau city hall’s information and media communication service, last night, the municipal services carried out snow removal and widening of the road on 22 streets. Exdrupo operated with four special vehicles, in cooperation with the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP), to facilitate the intervention.

In this context, acting mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, requested that the traffickers carry out such works in the crowded streets and the arteries where public transport circulates. Also, the municipal authorities are calling on drivers not to leave their cars on the roadside, so that municipal services can intervene in road cleaning.

Also, thirteen special vehicle evacuated the snow from streets Vasile Alecsandri and Alexandr Pushkin. The equipment of the Local communal directorate (DLC) was also involved in the evacuation of the snow on the sidewalks, on bd. Stefan cel Mare. Totally, there were carried out about 60 races.

The road workers intervened on the streets as to prevent formation of frost. There were used 11 Exdrupo trucks to scrape the anti – skid material. During the night, there were sprinkled 270 tonnes of anti – skid material and 30 tonnes of technical salt.

Interviewed by agency, the press officer of INP, Natalia Golovco, specified that within 24 hours, patrol officers actively increased their activity throughout the country. "Thus, 54 inspectors provided assistance and support to the road workers from Chisinau to clean roads from snow. Another 160 were involved in the maintenance and supervision of road traffic throughout the country. Currently, the roads and routes in the country do not present any problem to drivers," said Golovco.

In the coming days, the weather is getting slightly cool. At night, thermometres will indicate up to – 08ºC in the north of the country, and the day will record up to + 04ºC in the south. It will snow throughout the country.
