Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ - The information security strategy for 2019-2024 and the action plan on its implementation will be published in Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) on 18 January.
The strategy is structured in seven chapters and 117 items and integrates the priority sectors with responsibilities of ensuring the information security. The document ascertains the problems faced by Moldova: increase in the number of informatics offences and contraventions, of the number of cyber attacks, as well as the deficit of competent human resources. Among the actions proposed, needed interventions will be designed for diminishing the negative impact of the crime rate, cyber attacks and incidents.
The document shows the solutions to counteract the phenomenon of misinformation and manipulating informing, which directly jeopardizes the security of the information space. One of the central elements of the Strategy is the creation of a coordinating council for ensuring the information security – a collective body with consultative and operational powers, which will ensure the systemic integration of the components of the information space.
The goals and actions for implementing the Strategy are distributed on four pillars. Each action has established concrete deadlines for carrying out. The strategy sees that all ministries, institutions and central administrative authorities will annually present information on the implementation of the action plan to the Intelligence and Security Service.
